San-Ei Gen is a long established food color manufacturer that developed Japan’s first artificial food colors in 1938 and also pioneered in producing natural food colors in Japan in 1965.
We succeeded in the development and commercial production of world’s first natural color extracted from red cabbage. Since then, we have created and sold colorants that are developed with the use of our own extraction and refining techniques.

These include but are not limited to soft drinks, alcoholic drinks, confectionery, frozen desserts, yogurts, baked goods, processed foods and many more.
In addition, we ensure the high quality, safety and performance of our products through the implementation of advanced deodorization technology, strict color control and a high standard quality control system.
Working closely with our customers in the development of their food products, San-Ei Gen provides color products that meet their demands to help people enjoy a rich and varied diet.
The core lineup of our products includes artificial colors, natural water soluble colors and coloring foods such as purple sweet potato and red radish, alongside natural oil-soluble colors such as beta-carotene and paprika extract.
